Fundraiser for James Chiodo by Diane Schindlbeck : SLAPP Suit Defend our 1st Amendment

Fundraiser for James Chiodo by Diane Schindlbeck : SLAPP Suit Defend our 1st Amendment:

Our First Amendment is under assault by political correct warriors embedded in the media, even in West Michigan. When YOU stand to protest the false narrative promoted by the Media you become a target of Character Assassination. Facts are tossed aside. Political Correct censors malign your good name.

Here in Ottawa County Michigan, our good Friend Jim Chiodo finds himself under a directed litigative assault by a Limited public figure. This Limited public figure is moving the Progressive political tool, known as a SLAPP action (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) to silence him. SLAPP suits are initiated to break the spirit, and financial resources of the targeted respondent.

Jim now confronts a SLAPP suit, which is a civil litigation moved in this instance by an editor of a local newspaper. A SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) suit is moved to silence Jim under the color of state law. It is civil litigation where the Petitioner’s objective is not to win.

The objective of SLAPP Litigation is to financially and emotionally bankrupt the targeted Respondent. The Editor of a local newspaper found a unique means to move SLAPP Litigation via a non-domestic personal protection order.

What did Jim do? He stood upon his bully pulpit and expressed free speech by associating with others who share his passion for Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

What else did Jim do? Jim organized a gathering of Michiganders in Support of President Donald J. Trump where he and others gathered in a park in Holland and peacefully marched two blocks and stood in front of this local newspaper to protest the false narrative the Editor published as News. On April 20th Ottawa County’s 20th Judicial Circuit Court declared that freely associating with freedom loving Americans, while speaking up for the President of the United States of America is “harmful”.

Jim also moved in legal compliance to Michigan State Law to notify the local newspaper that he may consider some of their actions targeting him to be libelous. This notice is a legal necessity, yet the 20th Judicial Circuit Court stated this was “harmful”.

Finally, Jim shared a Social Media Posting, originally posted by the local newspaper on its own Facebook Page, “National Hug A Newsperson Day”. Jim suggested to all when hugging the Editor, to ask a few questions about the ways the Paper picks and chooses the stories of the Day, to advance the Progressive agenda known to most as “Fake News”. In the 20th Judicial Circuit Court the word hug, which is defined by Webster’s as an action of affection, has been redefined to mean “Harm”.

This tale is unbelievable but sadly very true.

Jim is forced to cover the expense of revisiting the Court room on June 26th at 3:30 PM.

If a local editor may successfully move a Court to SLAPP a local conservative grassroots activist in Ottawa County, you may be the next target. Any local editor, confronted with failing circulation, could turn on conservative grassroots activists to justify their failed business model, we know as “Fake News”.

We need to stand to support Jim’s legal cause to show this local editor and the 20th Judicial Circuit Court, that we stand together, as did our Founding Fathers of the American Republic, united by Providence’s Word, where we know, Liberty is Not Free.

I am passionate about helping Jim with these expenses not only because he is a dear friend of mine, but because this could have been me or you. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Will you visit me in jail?

My friends,

Some of you know of my “legal issues” and I’m grateful to those who have already supported me.  However, even among those who donated, many don’t know the details, which could not be made public. This email is to inform and share details.

Speaking out for liberty has always been second nature to me.  Unfortunately, even here in West MI, some people don't like free speech. Because of that, I’m asking for your support.

Up till now information in the public narrative of a Go-Fund-Me page have been purposely vague. Following the introduction, the content now reveals those details which have not been public  It is carefully worded to avoid legal implications.

The next step is a hearing to rescind the order, set for June 26, 3:00 PM, Ottawa County Courthouse, 414 Washington Ave, Grand Haven.  A full courtroom will send a message to the editor and the court.  Will you attend?  A major event is further north of Grand Haven.  Plan for heavy traffic on RTE 31.

It’s likely this hearing is only a first step in a long and arduous repeal process to vindicate my first amendment rights.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated, including sharing my message with friends. (Facebook, email, etc), including your presences in court on 6/26.  In any public communication, please reference only, “editor” and “local paper” (even if you know the proper names).

Should you have questions, feel free to call at 616-510-5942

Sincerely,

Jim Chiodo
